{Stamped Easter Home Decor piece}

Hello there,
thanks for stopping by my blog today.

With all the changes to life brought on by the Covid 19 pandemic and then everyone in my household getting ill, the last couple of weeks have been a bit of a blur.  We are still unsure whether we had "the" virus, or just another one that was doing the rounds at the time.  It certainly left my husband and I feeling exhausted, however we are very much recovered and enjoying sunny weather, and very grateful for where we live.

The children are officially on school holidays so not so much urgency to encourage them to do school work that has been set by teachers.  Easter celebrations have crept up on me as the usual reminders of seeing Eater decor in shops, lambs skipping in fields and roadsides lined with daffodils have not been there due to being quarantined.

However, last night I took a moment (about an hour) to make this Home Decor piece that is now on my mantle-piece.

It is full of the symbolism of the Biblical account of Easter, including blue flowers reminiscent of forget-me-nots, small red hearts to remind us of the love of Christ as he bled and touches of gold and purple hinting at his kingship.

Here are the stamps and colours used

{One Sheet Wonder stamping diagonally and what I made from them}

Hi everyone, this post sharing the results of a YouTube live video which can be found here... be warned it's very long. However if you would like to hear the explanations of my thought process when stamping, you may find it useful.

Here is a faster version

Here are the results of the stamping session

Colours used: Poppy Parade, Balmy Blue, Rococco Rose, Daffodil Delight and Soft Sea Foam

Colours used: Melon Mambo, Balmy Blue, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight and Soft Sea Foam

Colours used: Night of Navy, Blueberry Bushel, Balmy Blue , Seaside Spray

Over the following few days I cut up the stamped sheets and created these cards.

I then did two more YouTube lives where I showed how I cut up the sheet and matting layers.  Again they're both quite long videos, but worth watching if you would like the details.

Here is how I cut up this sheet

and here are the matting layers with lots of rectangles cut out of them.. yes I'm that frugal!

And here are the cards

Well, if you're reached the end of this blog post you deserve a medal!
Thank you for sticking with me, I hope it's inspired you to get your stamps out and play!

Don't forget, if you would like a copy of the new Autumn/Winter catalogue you can drop me a line and I'll pop one in the post to you.

{Shabby Chic Daisy card using Stampin Up Stamps and Dies}

I love lots of different styles when it comes to card making. I am constantly inspired by the work of others, and love thinking how I can use Stampin' Up! products to achieve the spectacular effects I see.

Creating romantic, shabby chic cards brings me so much joy, as I get to arrange different elements on a card for a pretty affect.

Can you see the copper trim hiding in there?  It's a clever trim... it's hollow! I cut a piece about 5cms long, a opened it up an cut the tube open so I'd have some lovely texture to stick own in the background.

Do you also spot some new ribbon?  It's tulle... and polka dot! What's not to love?  It is also going to be available in Whisper White AND Very Vanilla in June.  If you have shopped with me in the last 6 months you will be receiving a catalogue soon, if not please contact me and I will put you on my mailing list.

I used dies from the Butterflies an Rose Garden thinlets sets that are leaving us this month.

Here is a video tutorial, worth grabbing a cuppa as it's a bit longer than usual.  In the video I say Gold Glimmer paper, I was meant to say Green!
