{Stamped One Sheet Wonder collaboration with Susan Levasseur from WOW Nola Creations}

As some of you know, I have enjoyed stamping my own pretty papers for a while now. Over the last few years I have developed a lovely friendship with the super talented and delightful Susan Levasseur of Wow Nola Creations.  We both admire each other's work and are frequent visitors to each other's YouTube channels.

A few months ago I had the idea of stamping some paper for her to make some cards with, I was overjoyed when she said yes to my idea.

I asked her for some colour scheme ideas and filmed myself stamping them and sent them to her. To our dismay about 2 months later the parcel hadn't arrived and I had to face the prospect of stamping some more.  Then thankfully a few weeks ago it arrived and I am pleased to share with you a sneak peek of Susan's card and the video of me stamping the background.

Can you see my paper peeking through?

Ingredients:
STAMPS: Blossoms in Bloom, Gorgeous Posies, Inspiring Iris and Waterfront
INK COLOURS: Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, Soft Seafoam, Pear Pizzazz, Seaside Spray and Misty Moonlight.

To see how I stamped it watch this short video here...

I am so excited to show you Susan's video making a card with my paper...

Please go and have a look at Susan's blog post with lots of fab pictures of the card she made {here}

{Making a Birthday Present - a paper flower canvas}

I love being able to make gifts for friends knowing the colours and textures they like.

It was such fun to make this.  I used several flower dies and punches using this muted spring colour palette.

The size of the canvas is about 8 by 11 inches.

To create the textured background I used a stencil, a spritzer with water and a few drops of Coastal Cabana reinker and texture paste.

The roses where created by cutting a swirl into a flower shape, rolling it up and gluing with my glue gun.  Intermingled into the leaves and flowers is some gold thread and pearl embelishments.

Here is the video of how I made it...

{Stamping Sunday Blog Hop - Tags in a Box}

Hi there, I'm Ruth from Artful Stampin and welcome to another Stamping Sunday Blog Hop.

My apologies for not making last month's hop, October seemed to just run away with me.  We're planning to move house soon so there has been lots of decluttering, sorting and clearing to do.

So the theme this month is to make some tags, either with a box or 3 different ways.  I opted for the box as I'm trying to get better at box making.

Here is the box with my set of tags

This is the lid of the box which I stamped with the Poinsettia Petals stamp set and then decorated with some die cuts from the matching set of dies.

To see all the products used in this project go {here}

Here is a quick tutorial showing how I made these

To make the box base cut card 8 3/4 x 5 1/2 inches and score 1 inch all the way around.
To make the lid cut card 8 1/4 by 5 inches and score just under 3/4 inches all the way around.
The inside divider was made by cutting card 3 1/2 inches by 8 1/4.

Do check out the other bloggers and their fabulous projects

{Sneak peek of new product - Enjoy the Moment}

A couple of weeks ago I enjoyed attending an online event that was organised by Stampin' Up! It replaced an in person event and was enjoyed by over 10,000 Stampin' Up! demonstrators through out the world.  We had the option of purchasing a goody box... here is the video of me opening it...

I couldn't resist making these simple note cards with this new set that will be available to customers in January 2021.  It's called Enjoy the Moment and it features dried seed pods from around the world.  It's such an on trend set of images and I look forward to seeing how I can incorporate them into a stamped wreath.  I teamed it with the set Comfort and Hope, it has some great texture stamps in it.

For this set I used Gray Granite and Early Espresso.

Here I experimented with Gray Granite, Old Olive and Granny Apple Green.

The Stampin' Up! Notelet and Envelope packs make card making so easy.

Here is the video of how I made them...

If you would like a copy of the January to June 2021 mini catalogue, and you have not shopped with me in the last 6 months, please contact me and I'll arrange to send you one when they become available.

{Stamped Summer Wreath using Floral Essence by Artful Stampin}

So I have been on quite a journey creatively these last few months.  My love and appreciation of the versatility and unlimited creative options of stamps has grown.  I always knew that once you had a rubber stamp in your hand the choice was yours as to what colour you used and where you stamped it.  However by playing and experimenting with multiple stamps and images has opened up a whole new world to me.

This world can be yours too.  You may not have the same stamps, that doesn't matter, as long as you have images you like and enjoy looking at. By spending time with them, experimenting with different colours, repeat stamping and seeing how they look with other stamps you can find a way of expressing yourself artistically.  BE WARNED you will most probably discover new techniques and new creative addictions along the way!

This is a detailed wreath stamped on 12 x 12 Whisper White cardstock.

To see this wreath being stamped skip to 40 minutes into the video below.

Here is a speeded up version of the wreath

Stamp Around Uk VLOG hop - Using a sketch

I know this blog post is a bit late (hangs head in shame).
I've been taking part in a video hop once a month, and this was the project I created for October's theme.

The lovely Janice gave us a card sketch to design around.  If you have never used a card sketch I highly recommend it.  It's a great help if you have lost your mojo a bit.

Here it is

When a sketch has a lot of detail on it, I approach it by trying to have a simple colour palette and use shades within it.

Here you can see I have gone for an aqua and purple theme.  I used Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape, Coastal Cabana and Pool Party as they matched a stamped One Sheet Wonder I had previously created.

After choosing the colours I gathered various dies, I looked for tag and circle style ones and floral and leaves.  After I cut a whole load out I had fun assembling the cards,

I used some co-ordinating sequins to finish them off.

Here is the video that I filmed

{Life is Beautiful birthday card}

Being a cardmaker it's only right and proper that my children get hand crafted cards for their birthdays.

This year I asked my daughter what she wanted on it, her request was cherry blossoms, pink and green.

Here is the result... so I had to add some extra bling and glitz.

I used the gorgeous tree image from Life is Beautiful, and the flowers from Framed for You.  The small flowers were punched out with the Confetti Flowers Border Punch

Watch the creative process here....

{Tag making with mixed media - gilded butterflies}

Sometimes it just has to happen!
Getting messy on the craft table has to happen to create something fun and luxurious... well it does with me.

These sort of projects just take a little bit of thought, lots of layering, and a fearlessness with your craft supplies.  To get the textures it's worth tearing, shaping and looking how different elements look against each other.

This project also upcycled some cardboard packaging, the tags were cut from the backing card that the Stampin' Up! papers are packaged in.  They create a really sturdy base, which is needed for this type of project.

I was inspired by an image on Pinterest of a tag with 3 butterflies in a row.  It's such a classic layout for any card or tag, and one I use often.  When you have your basic layout, it is easier to layer other things.

These butterlies were created by colouring some silver foiled paper with Stampin Up's Alcohol pens, then stamped and heat embossed the butterfly image from Butterfly Gala.
