[45th Anniversary Layered Orchid Card}

My parents celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary at the end of March.
Traditionally this is associated with Sapphire so I focused on blues for their card.

It has lots and lots of layers and different elements to it.
Please scroll down to see the pictures and the video.

The foil was from a Saleabration freebie, that I coloured with the Stampin' Blends.

{One Sheet Wonder - Pretty Peacock - New In Colour 2019}

Hi there stampers, I hope you're having a good week.
It's half term and its been lovely to not be on the school run and spend sometime with my family.
We even made it to the Beach on Bank Holiday Monday.

Here is today's one sheet wonder.
I've decided to focus on one of the new in colours,

It's called Pretty Peacock, and it really is a pretty colour. It's slightly more bluey than the retiring Tranquil Tide.  I've used the versatile stamp set Love what you do.

Enjoy the video...

{Stamping Sunday Blog Hop - New Catalogue Sneak Peek 2019}

Hello and and welcome to another
Petal Promenade designer series paper available from Ruth Trice

I am looking forward to seeing what my fellow demonstrators around the world have created this week.  We've chosen some new products from the upcoming catalogue.  DId you know as a demonstrator we get to order some items before everyone else?  Just one of the perks of signing up.
Do have a look at the other participants in this hop, I am always inspired by their work.

I have chosen the Come Sail Away suite to focus on.  Now a little confession, I haven't bought the stamp set or dies for this suite, however I did purchase the Memories and More kit, the 12x12 papers. and the Baker's Twine.

There are so many elements in the Memories and More kit that I knew I'd have enogh to play with.  I also had a couple of embellishments I received at Onstage last month.

Here is my card.  I needed to create a special card for my Husband's Uncle, he and his wife like to go on cruises so I thought the nautical theme would be appropriate.

I used one of the laser cut cards from the kit and sponged Night of Navy ink round the edges of a square card base made from Crumb Cake card.

I then tore and ink distressed a card to make a layer behind the light house card.

In the corner I clustered some leaf punchies, various stickers from the pack, and the baker's twine that I had unraveled and removed the blue thread.

For my second project I created a chocolate box.  The dimensions were copied from a gift a friend had given me.  I love how a simple gift can be dressed up .

I used Balmy Blue card and decorated it with layers of  Crumb Cake card, Memories and More card, and various punch outs and stickers.

Can you see those beautiful metal embellishments? I love the detail on them.  Oh and by the way, the distressing on the edge of the card was done by carefully swiping my paper snips down the card.

If you would like your own paper copy of the new catalogue, please drop me a line and I'll get one sent out to you (Uk only).  Thanks for dropping by and remember to have a look at the other blogs, links below.

Here is a video explaining a bit more, and showing some other cards...

Christmas Stampathon 2019 May - Card with Movement

Welcome to the...

5th Round of the
Christmas Stampathon 2019

Be inspired every month with a Christmas Challenge on the 25th of the month.

The challenge this month is to use the image below as inspiration to create at least 4 cards with an element of movement.

When you have made your creation, please photograph it and add it to the Facebook group here.

I am joined by the 3 other demonstrators from around the world

Denise Kepple Garrison 'Lady Bug Stampin'  from America

Ellen Woodbridge  and Rosalie Desmond from Australia

This challenge was a challenge to me, I had so many idea and ended up spending lots of time faffing at my craft table.  In the end I came up with this card.

I used the beautiful Winter Woods stamp set.  After having to say goodbye to Lovely as a Tree, this set is a wonderful alternative and addition to my craft supplies.  I love how it is suitable for non Christmas projects too,

Here is my video tutorial...

{One Sheet Wonder Wednesday - Bunch of Blossoms}

Happy Wednesday!

Here is today's One Sheet Wonder... well actually here are the results of 3!
Sorry my blog posts are a bit like buses at the moment.

This card was created from a OSW stamped with the Bunch of Blossoms set, which is retiring this month. I'll be using lots of retiring sets over the next couple of weeks.

Over on Facebook last night, I did a "live" event, and had a play with to bird sets... Swirly Bird and Best Birds, here is the result of that stamping session, and to see the video go here.

Later on I had more of play and included some stamps from His Grace, a lovely set in the Spring/Summer catalogue that will be going soon.

{Paper pieced Super Hero Card}

So excited to share this card with you.

Often when it comes to card making I end up choosing products that I like the look of to make cards that are pleasing to me.  However when making a card for a specific occasion or person, you have to set aside your personal preferences and work harder to create something that will be meaningful to the recipient but will also satisfy your personal creative standards.

I searched on Pinterest for various icons associated with various characters, then tried to create something similar.  I ended up with this palette of primary colours and combinations of various shapes.

I used a sponge with a little dab of black ink around the edges of the circles to help make them stand out.  The colours I used were Blueberry Bushel, Poppy Parade, Pineapple Punch and a little piece of Balmy Blue/

{One Sheet Wonder Wednesday - Sheltering Tree meets Very Vintage}

There's nothing like a retiring list to dust off some favourite stamp sets!
Stampin' Up have released the list of items that are retiring out of the main and Spring/Summer catalogue.  To see a video walk through go here

As a demonstrator I often sell off or gift retiring stamps as it doesn't make business sense for me to hold on to them.  However for those of you who love creating and having a variety of stamps to use in your card making it's time to take a closer look at the catalogue, and perhaps grab the ones you've been thinking about while stocks last.

The Sheltering Tree stamp set has served me well over the years, it has some great images and some lovely sentiments that are perfect for lots of occasions.

I decided to pair it up with Very Vintage, a host set that has been available this past year.
