{It's a Stampin' Up! Wedding!}

A couple of weeks ago I had the absolute pleasure of going to a friend's wedding.
She had approached me a number of months ago to ask for help designing her wedding invitations, which we did together by having a play with some stamps, ink and card.  After enjoying the process so much she decided to make the decorations and all the bouquets and buttonholes!

The colour scheme had already been decided, a lovely turquoise, which matched Stampin' Up!s Tempting Turquoise, and with my suggestion we added Lemon Lime Twist to the mix.
Butterflies was also a bit of a theme, so all the fabulous dies came into use along with retired dies and punches that I can't bear to part with.

Over the following months there were sessions cutting and making flowers at my kitchen table as well as an army of bridesmaids at the brides house who rolled and assembled.

Here is the bride's bouquet at the beginning of the assembling process.
We used a ready formed handle with oasis dome, which we hot glued the flowers to.

The happy couple!

Close up.

These were the butterfly wands for the flower girls, made with a retired die and some current Stampin' Up! ribbon and sequin trim.

These fab table numbers were decorated to co-ordinate with the rest of the scheme and...

these concertina medallions were stamped before folding and decorating to create an impressive centre piece on the tables.

The whole room looked amazing with all the coordinating decorations.

Even the post box had a touch of Stampin' Up! magic!

So as I had to make a card, an knew the colour scheme, I broke out some non SU paper (ssshhhh) and some pretty paper flowers in my stash, along with lots of diecuts - Stampin' Up! of course, and the Glitter Enamel Dots, to make this...

Here is a sped up video of the process.

{Paper flower from circles}

Hi there!
Sorry I've not posted for a few days, last week was half term holiday.  The first part of the week was spent getting ready for the last part!  We headed to London on the Thursday and stayed with my sister  Helen and her family.  Friday was spent packing biscuits Helen had decorated then setting the church hall up for Helen and Chris' 15 yr wedding anniversary and their 10 year being at St John's Wood Road Baptist Church (Chris is the Pastor there).

I had offered to create some decorations for the tables so made these huge roses out of serviettes, and some smaller ones from the spiral flower die.

Helen bought these yummy heart shaped ginger bread biscuits from a fabulous shop called Tiger, living in rural Wales we miss out on some interesting shops.  I managed to pick up a few little Christmas presents!  Anyway, she had been inspired by some pictures on Pinterest, so she piped with blue icing.  The theme was white, silver and blue, the same colours she had for her wedding.  I designed some tags using Picmonkey, printed, cut and punched the with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch.

As a way for people to write some personal message to the couple I cut up some shapes and punched holes in them so they could be strung up afterwards.  There was also a box of silver butterfly and flower punchie for people to decorate their messages.

Then for something extra special I made this paper flower frame to be used as a photo prop

Here is a little video showing it...

And here are some pictures of it in use...

Helen still fits in her wedding dress...just!

Me and my daddy, you can see who I got the eyebrows from!

And finally, here is a smaller version of the flowers on the frame with a bit of extra stamping.

{Flower class results}

On Tuesday I ran a paper flower making class, some of the lovely ladies that came sent me photos of the items they made, thought you might like to see them.  I love how everyone can change the look of what they are creating by different choices of colours and stamps.

-{Paper Wild Rose}- Video Tutorial

I absolutely loved creating this.

I don't know about you, but sometimes I get those Eureka! moments when crafting.  Last week I had to prepare a paper flower class, and I knew that the ladies participating were well seasoned crafters, so I had to do something a bit different and inspirational for them.  I had been thinking about how to use stamps to create different colour effects on flower shapes, the "sun" stamp from Kinda Eclectic just seemed to work so well.

I'll let you watch the video... I'm sorry that it goes a bit blurry, my camera didn't refocus like it normally does, and I'm afraid I'm too pushed for time to re film.  Had a wonderful week preparing for and then attending a friends wedding this weekend.

On the left is a flower that I have curled the petals inwards and the other one I haven't.

~{Decorative flower pegs}~ video tutorial

Hi there stampers, bloggers, facebookers, instagramers and anyone else reading this!

Over the past few months of been thinking about how I can share what I love more effectively with you all.  I have had to be realistic about where I can put my time and energy , and also what I find quick and simple to execute.  As you may have noticed blogging doesn't happen as often, however I'm finding that other forms of social media is suiting me.

One of the things on my to do list was to produce some video tutorials of what I do.  I am creating all the time for my personal use, workshops and items to sell.  Often when I am crafting I have thought "wouldn't this be nice to share with someone else".  I've been experimenting with different filming setups and lighting over the last week, and although I'm not completely happy I am satisfied enough with the results to do a big share!  My aim is to post a video once a week, so please like my {Facebook page} to be kept up to date.

So without further ado, here are some decorative pegs, and a video tutorial, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Pictures of other colourways and pegged to a jar.

~{Felt flower hairclips}~

Been a busy bee this week making items to sell at a local Food and Craft fair this weekend.

A lovely customer of mine bought the Spiral Flower Die and I popped up to see her for a natter and to cut some out of felt and card.  Been making some pretty hair clips, and look what I've used for the centres... the awesome fringe scissors!  They can cut through light weight felt as well as card and paper.  To buy them from my shop click {here}
