Sailing Home Birthday card

Belated Happy New Year!
I've just realised this is my first post of 2020!  I was ill just before Christmas, and I feel like I'm still playing catch up, my Christmas tree is still up as I wanted to enjoy it for a little longer.

Lot's has happened in Stampin' Up! world.  There is a new Mini catalogue that will take us through to June, and of course, the fabulous Saleabration period is upon us, where FREE product can be earned with qualifying orders.

Here are the link to my online store where the new goodies can be viewed HERE

not just yet though as I want to show you a card I made for my husband's birthday... a little while back, while I was making it I made a couple of others.  I find it easier to make a few cards when I have certain supplies out.

It was created using a combination of stamps and ink blending techniques.
I'm discovering masking images can be so effective in defining images.  It was easy to stamp the lighthouse on to a sticky note then cut it out.  TOP TIP cut just inside the outer line.

Here are the other 2 cards using the same supplies

This is the sped up version of the video

{Stamping Sunday Blog Hop mini catalogue favourite}

Welcome to this week's Stampin Sunday Blog Hop.  This month we have been challenged to use a favourite product from the upcoming mini catalogue.  By the way if you haven't got your hands in a copy yet, please let me know.

I have chosen this gorgeous stamp called Breathtaking Bouquet as a main focal point and used the sentiments from

I decided to use it 3 different ways to inspire you.

The first card was made by stamping with Cherry Cobbler ink on to some Shimmer White card, then I got a paintbrush and water and reactivated the ink and painted in some of the flowers. The addition of a stamped sentiment with a little bit of thread finishes off this super simple card.

The second card was stamped on to Whisper White card with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then I choose some light coloured Stampin Blends and barely coloured in some of the flowers. I wrapped some of the new thin Mint Macaron ribbon around it before sticking it down and finishing it with some thread and a sentiment.

Thos last card took a little more time.

I stamped the image onto White and BlackBerry Bliss cardstock with the Tuxedo Black ink pad.  After colouring in some of the flowers I fussy cut them out and stuck them with dimensionals, also adding some ribbon and white flax thread with some gorgeous gems that are also going to be available in January.

{Horses and flowers - Using Let it Ride stamp set}

Well who would have guessed... me? Falling in love with a horse stamp set?!  I don't have anything against these beautiful creatures, I just wouldn't call myself a horsey person.  I have lots of friends who spend a lot of time riding, grooming, training and loving horses.  The test of these cards will be whether they appreciate my treatment of these images.

I wanted to try an technique that showed of the flowers from Perennial Birthday and thought they would look lovely as a frame around the horses.

So I stamped them with Memento Black Ink on to Smokey Slate card stock and used the Stampin Blends to colour the images in.

Here is the long video of this process
