I've been seeing lots of "chalk board" technique cards in blogland and pinterest recently.
Thought I'd give it a go myself.
Instead of stamping with white ink onto black card (which is one way of doing it) I embossed with clear embossing powder onto white card. Then used three different blues and sponged over the top. I used Island Indigo, Night of Navy and Midnight Muse to create a dark but multi toned background.
Do you notice the fabulous ripped edge? This was created using a gadget that nearly passed me by in the current spring/summer catalogue (pg 14). Its a distress tool, ergonomically shaped and easy to use, its great for vintage, distressed and shabby chic style cards, only £4.50. Also useful for taking on aeroplanes if you need to cut thread! My mum has a similar one for her tatting.
