Stamping Sunday Blog Hop - Mainly Monochrome

Thank you for hopping to me today :) A special hello if you've reached me from Katja's blog

So our theme this month is Manly or Mainly Monochrome

I choose to go Monochromatic first, however I think these card's might fit into the Manly category.

I used the gorgeous Botanical Beauty stamp set from Stampin' Up! (162903) and the Around the Bend dies (160649)
with Basic Black, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate and Basic White card stock, then stamped with Smoky Slate ink and Basic Gray ink.

I love using contrasts to make patterns really pop, made all the more special when it has been created yourself.

I actually stamped on a whole sheet of Basic White card and have lots left over for another project.

To see how I made the card, take a look at this video

Happy NEW Year - New template resource

Hello, and a Happy 2024 to you.

The end of a year and the beginning of a new one often gives me time to reflect and think about ways to improve myself, and the processes I use in my life.  I am already pleased to announce that one of those changes has already been implemented and seems to be working, and already helpful to myself and my customers.  I have enlisted the help of an online website to help with booking my online classes.

You can see what I have on offer and be able to book on here.

But wait! That's not all...
I am constantly designing cards, I run a monthly class where I have to design and create the kits for 3 cards, I have a YouTube channel to provide ideas for and sometimes those are completely improvised and of the moment.  Either way there are some advantages to being able to simply record designs that are tried and tested and can easily be repeated with alternative paper, card and embelishments.

So... my plan is, whenever I design a fancy fold card, I will draw out a plan for it on grid paper, take a photo, and share it on here or on my Facebook group.

So this is my first one recorded in this way...

The idea for this card popped into my head and I immeadiately embraced it as I love the idea of adding dimension to a card, but still keeping it flat for posting.

I used the FREE Saleabration paper from Stampin' Up!  (2024) called Trusty Toolbox and loved how it turned out.
I created a pop-up tube on which to place my focal point.

During my YouTube live I remade it, slightly adapting it with a shorted tube, moving it's position, changing the paper, card and embellishments.

Those laser cut butterflies are available in the new MINI CATALOGUE product no 162612

The self adhesive sequins make an instant finishing touch for them - product no 161206

Here is the measurements, and if you want to see how to assemble it please watch my video below.

Stamping Sunday Blog Hop - Stocking Fillers

Hi there and welcome, today I have a quick little project to make a fab little stocking filler gift.

This gorgeous Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! totally has my heart, it is packed with stunning florals in really pretty colour schemes suitable for lots of occasions.  It comes in 6" x 6" which is the perfect size for this project.  It's called Garden walk and the code for it is 162227.

This little box easily holds a couple of tea lights - I'm mostly loving the scented ones from Aldi at the moment!

I teamed the floral paper with one from the Fresh as a Daisy DSP set.  I wanted a plain design for the base to offset the busy florals.

The red ribbon is the finishing touch for this sweet scented gift.

If you would like to see how I made the box, please watch this video...

Shimmy and Shake - Stamping Sunday Blog Hop

Hellooooo, happy September! How is yours going?
We've had a few changes with eldest son returning home from Uni, currently on a quest to find work - also engaged! Eeek Mother in Law life starting next year.  Then Son no 2 has flown the nest to start Uni, studying Primary education.

In the craft studio I finally got round to ordering a beautiful sea themed stamp set.  The art work is so detailed, it's a massive reminder of why I love stamping, I can create or demonstrate in seconds what would take me hours to do with a pen. It's called Beauty of the Deep by Stampin' Up!

I thought it was perfect to create this month's
Stamping Sunday Blog Hop - Shimmy and Shake
I loved the idea of creating fish swimming around in a porthole.

The background was created using some in direct to a block, sprizting on it and smooshing it onto the Basic White card, then stamped a few strands of seaweed.

The fish were stamped and fussy cut out.

So, confession time, I meant to stick the white circle frame that I had cut out onto the card, yup, I completely forgot!

I used the Time 3D embossing folder and some Gray Granite ink to create the woodgrain.

Here is a short video of how I made it.
