~{I love lace - coloured in technique}~

I was convinced to buy this beautiful stamp by my downline Lindsey.   She had told me how detailed it was. I've been having a play with it and am stunned by it's intricacy.

To create the lace panel I inked the whole pad with Crumb Cake then using marker pens in Pool Party and Lucky Limeade (Old Olive would be fine too) I coloured in the flowers and brushed over the leaves before huffing them stamping onto Very Vanilla card stock.

Do have a go at this simple technique and let me know how you get on.

~{DCM Something Old Something New}~

It has been an absolute age since I participated in a blog challenge!  And I have to confess that I made some cards today, then saw what the theme was on the Daring Card Makers and realised my cards fulfilled the criteria.  Do pop over to the blog if you would like to take part.

The theme is Something Old Something New.  The train stamp from a set called Traveler and is one I've hardly used since I bought it in the summer and the script and postmark stamp come from a retired set called French Foliage, it was very popular and is apparently hard to get hold of as it is retired.

There's a fab stamp set that hostesses can earn for FREE by hosting a party before the 31st October (party spend over £200).  It's a great sentiment set, useful for seasonal cards.  As a demonstrator I earned it for free - watch this space for some samples!

~{Big Shot promotion!}~

Happy Summer!
I'm not one of those people that mind rain in summer... i just like to have it after sundown! For those of you who have seen the film Camelot you'll know what I mean.

I've already had our family holiday away.  Each year we go to a Christian Family Conference and have a wonderful time with old friends, family and making new friends. As well as having some excellent Bible teaching and singing heartily.  This year I took one of the Project Life kits to write my thoughts and notes down so I could incorporate it into the pages I'll make with the pictures.  One of my friends who is a self confessed stationary addict loved the idea and will soon be getting her order to start her Project Life and journalling adventures.

Just wanted you to know of the fab offer that's available for this month only...

~{Wreath making class}~

Just had a lovely morning with the Butterflies Friendship Group in Welshpool, we made these!
I love seeing people's creativity!

The spiral flower die makes light work of making the paper roses.

Please contact me if you would like me to teach you how to do these at a class.

~{Wedding card and pressie}~

Last week I had the pleasure of going to a family wedding.  We made use of the time down south and visited friends and family before the wedding itself on the Wednesday.  A couple of days before we headed off, a friend of mine contacted me as she needed a wedding card for a couple she was bridesmaid for.  So, as time is of an essence I decided to make the two cards the same design apart from the names and dates of course!

I love crocheting when I'm not paper crafting, and have recently enjoyed making ombre blankets.  Here are pics of the present and the card that went with it.

~{simple flower tutorial}~

Wow, there is lots of news to update you on in Stampin' Up! world.

But before I do, I just wanted to share this quick picture tutorial for making shaped flowers.

I was inspired by a picture in the current (2013-2014) catalogue (pg150) and am kicking myself I had not noticed it before!

I hope the pictures are self explanatory, however before you all start asking me if you are meant to have a notch cut out of one of the flowers...can I explain that it was a tight squeeze getting three flowers out of the paper I had, and because I knew it would be covered up it didn't matter that I couldn't fit it in.

Please let me know if you create something pretty using this method.

On with the news!

The new catalogue is imminent, so this means the retirement list is out, basically there are products that get "retired" too make way for new ones.  Stampin' Up! release a list of these products a month before the new catalogue so that you can have the opportunity to nab them before they disappear for good.

You can see the retirement list and what is still in stock {here}, there are also new items in the clearance rack {here}.  If there are items you can't live without please order them via my online shop as products are selling out every day.
The other way to nab yourself a bargain is to sign up as a demonstrator!  Until the end of June you can sign up for only £50!  In return you can choose £55 of product and get £45 worth of business materials to get you started (you can even choose items from the clearance rack).  By signing up asap you will get to preview the new catalogue and even be able to pre order products before other people see them!

~{Sponge, Spritz and Stamp}~

Sponge, Spritz and Stamp
That's what I'm calling the following technique!

I wanted to create a pretty background to show off these stamps, and had great fun in the process!
  • Using a sponge and 3 inkpad colours of your choice, cover a sheet of very Vanilla Cardstock.
  • Fill a Spritzer bottle with water, and spray the entire sheet with an even covering of water, use a heat tool to dry if you can't wait (turn the card upside down and heat if it starts to curl).
  • Stamp the card with whatever stamps and colours you would like.
  • Stamp some with Versamark, add embossing powder (I used white)and heat.

~{Introducing...}~

...an easier way to stamp!

Stampin' Up! is a company dedicated to quality, and for this reason has held off from producing any of their stamps in anything other than rubber.  However, they've been listening to the customers and have been testing and trying out stamps made from photopolymer.

So, I am pleased to announce that for this month only there are 4 stamp sets available for FREE with a £60 order.  There are new special offers every week this month too, so have fun browsing in my shop and earn yourself a freebie!

~{Spring colours layout}~

Ok, so I've been a busy bunny!  I've had even more of a play with the Pocket Scrapbooking, preparing myself for the launch of Project Life into the Stampin' Up! repertoire.

The leaves were punched out with non SU! punches, however the leaf on the Bird Builder punch could be used instead.

Here is a list of all the products I used, if you click on the pictures it will take you directly to my online shop.

The ink pads I used were: Wild Wasabi, Regal Rose (retired) and So Saffron.
